It's hard to believe - but the newest thing in energy science could come from something so old it's turned to rot. The genetics of "jungle rot" may hold the key to making biofuel in a more economical fashion by showing scientists how to turn a plant's cellulose into fermentable sugars, a very expensive process at the moment.
