The U.S. Army has said that its using reductions in greenhouse emissions to save soldiers lives in Iraq, since fuel-laden convoys are sweet targets - in turn the army is reducing its carbon 'bootprint' by limit the use of fossil fuels and making its operations generally more environmentally sound and sustainable.
